Mini-mites is our introductory hockey program for girls and boys ages 4-6. Mini-mites is for kids who have prior experience skating. During the season we help kids improve their skating as well as shoot, pass, and stickhandle. Most of all we have fun! Mini-mites is not, however, a learn to skate program. If your child does not know how to skate, we recommend the Saint Paul Figure Skating Club’s Learn to Skate Program.
The Mini-Mite program is designed for children ages 4- 6. Mini-mites is also appropriate for kids ages 6 to 8 who have no prior experience playing hockey. After a year of mini-mites, these kids will be ready to play on a Mite, 8U or Squirt team.
Registration opens in August. The Mini-Mite season runs typically from the first weekend in November through the end of February.
All Mini-Mite practices are held at Charles M. Schulz Highland Arena in St. Paul located at 800 S Snelling Avenue.
SPCHA provides jerseys for the Mini-Mites. The cost of the jersey is included in the registration fee. Players must provide all of their own equipment and socks.
We look forward to another great year of hockey for you and your family, and are excited to officially get things started!
Mini Mite season begins early this year with the first practice on Saturday October 28th, 2023.
The first step of your registration should begin with your USA Hockey registration, before returning to this site to complete Registration with the Capitals.
The registration fee for Mini Mites is $150 per player for the season.
