Team Staff Certification Requirements & Reimbursement
TEAM STAFF MUST COMPLETE ALL OF THE REQUIREMENTS BELOW BEFORE THEY TAKE THE ICE FOR PRACTICE.
USA HOCKEY REGISTRATION
USA Hockey registration is required for all Team Staff.
BACKGROUND SCREEN
All Team Staff, and anyone else who will have regular contact with, or authority over, athletes under the age of 18 are required to submit to a background screen through NCSI before any such contact with those athletes.
SAFESPORT
Safesport is an online module to help coaches and volunteers become aware of the information necessary to help prevent abuse from occurring in our sport
TEAM STAFF REIMBURSEMENT
We are pleased to confirm that reimbursement is available for the costs associated with required certifications of eligible Team Staff.
Reimbursement Eligibility
The SPCHA will reimburse one Manager per team for the required NCIS Background Screen, required every other season.
The SPCHA will reimburse approved Locker Room Monitors for the cost of the required NCIS Background Screen. To be eligible for reimbursement:
- Monitors must be approved by the head coach or manager (max 2).
- All required items (USA Hockey Member Number, SafeSport, and NCIS Background Screen) must be submitted to and accepted by the SPCHA Registrar within 30 days of teams being announced.
- Submit all receipts for the NCIS Background Screen via the reimbursement form available on the SPCHA website under Resources > For Managers.
