Girls camps

Tony Scheid Summer Development Program

We are very excited about our 2023 Girls Summer Hockey Camp at Highland Arena. We love the process of teaching the core hockey fundamentals and the summer camp gives us a great opportunity to take a deep dive into skating, stick handling, passing, shooting, and more.

Our camp teaches the basic fundamentals of hockey. Our purpose is to create a positive learning environment that helps players improve their skills while having fun playing the game they love. Our concentration is on skating as the base skill needed to master in order to progress and improve in all aspects of hockey. We train and learn with purpose on these key skills: power skating, edge control, balance, quickness, explosive speed, stick handling, puck control, puck protection, checking/angling, passing, shooting, and scoring. We use small area games to teach the game by playing the game. We play small area games every practice session and provide coaching and feedback on team play and interacting as a unit. Our concentration is on the concepts of play-making, cycling, battling, and offensive/defensive support. Moreover, having fun and playing creatively are emphasized in a competitive environment. Players are constantly encouraged to push themselves outside of their comfort zone in order to improve their game and take it to the next level!

Dates:

  • June 12th through Thursday, July 27. No camp July 1-9.
  • M/W/Th, 4:40-5:40pm for High School players
  • M/W/Th, 5:50-6:50pm for 10U/12U/14U players
