50th Season (2023-24)

The 2023-2024 season is the Caps' 50th year!

The association began on May 14, 1973 when John J. Connelly, David V. Damberg, and John A. Murray incorporated the Highland Area Hockey Association, Inc.

The Highland Area Hockey Association played independently for 14 years before merging with the Central Area Hockey Association, incorporated in 1979.

Together they formed the Highland joint association in 1987.

Seven years later, the joint association’s name was changed to the Highland Central Hockey Association in 1994.

After 20 years as the Highland Central Hockey Association, the association changed its name once again to become the St. Paul Capitals Hockey Association in 2014.

During this 2023-2024 season we will be celebrating our golden birthday together. We look forward to that and the next 50 years serving our community.
