About SPCHA

The St. Paul Capitals Hockey Association is proud to provide children in the St. Paul area with the opportunity to learn and play the game of hockey. For 50 years SPCHA has been a home for thousands of hockey players. Today, SPCHA is made up of athletes from ages 4 to 16, from those who are novice skaters to those who have been skating for more than a decade. No matter the skill level, SPCHA works to develop the skills and knowledge necessary for all players to compete at their highest level possible.

Mission

The St. Paul Capitals Hockey Association, a community built around a common respect for the game of hockey, strives to consistently develop players and coaches to their full potential in a fun and safe hockey environment. SPCHA members embrace competitive play, teamwork, and sportsmanship.

Values

Development:  SPCHA will continuously work to develop players and build a solid foundation across all aspects of hockey both on and off the ice. The tools will be provided to coaches at all levels to ensure that every skater is challenged to grow.

Community:  SPCHA community includes not only the players and coaches, but the managers, parents and support systems that are involved in developing the positive hockey environment. The community trusts in the organization, feels welcomed at practices and games, and feels valued.

Respect:  SPCHA respects all aspects of the game of hockey – the coaches, the officials, the teams, the spectators, and the outcome.

Teamwork:  SPCHA believes in the value of teamwork – working together to achieve a common goal.

Fun:  SPCHA wants hockey to be an overall fun hockey experience on- and off-ice, at home, and traveling. We want the SPCHA community to enjoy all aspects of being a part of the organization.

SPCHA is governed by volunteer board members. Parents of athletes volunteer their time as coaches, managers and other volunteer positions to create a fun and educational experience for players.

The association follows USA Hockey and Minnesota Hockey guidelines and is a part of District 2.

Our association boundaries are: The City of St. Paul south of I-94 and west of Hwy 52, and the City of St. Paul's West Side neighborhood
