The SPCHA has been selected as a pilot Skate It Forward association

Exciting news for our St. Paul Capitals community! The SPCHA has been chosen as one of the 11 inaugural Skate It Forward pilot associations for the 2025-26 season.

This ambitious initiative from the Minnesota Wild Foundation is inspired by "Pay It Forward" and aims to preserve and strengthen Minnesota's community hockey model. We're proud to be at the forefront! Our application, focused on keeping youth hockey strong in St. Paul and expanding access to hockey in our new neighborhoods of West Side and West End, perfectly aligns with Skate It Forward's mission to get more Minnesota kids on the ice.

A key highlight: together with the SPCHA, Skate It Forward provides a grant for every first-time player born June 1, 2016 or after, making hockey free for these new Mini-Mite, Mite, and 8U participants! This is a tremendous boost for growing the game in our community. Please share this news to help us grow the game!
