Team placements are posted

Team placement for 10U and 12U, and squirts through bantams, are posted to your Crossbar account. I want to thank all of the people who helped with evaluations: our evaluators, those who helped on the ice, our locker room monitors, and, above all, TJ Barnes, who organized and ran our evaluation process. Evaluations are stressful, and our volunteers devote countless hours to getting it right. Thank you!

We were super excited about our players’ performances at evaluations. The play was amazing, and we look forward to many stellar performances on the ice this season.

Team placement can be tough for some families. Remember that a player’s current team says nothing about their potential as a hockey player. Matt Gleason, the most successful Capitals player in recent history, began his squirt career as a C player. Many of the players on our top peewee team this season played on a peewee C team last season.

The Capitals remain committed to developing all of our players. We recently hired Alex Johnson and David Zevnik, who coach at Breakaway Academy, as skill instructors for our boys teams. OS will again do skills training for our girls teams. These instructors will help ensure our players' continued development.

Please reach out if you have questions or concerns about team placement. Please honor the Capitals’ mandatory 24 hour cooling off period.

I wish you all a happy hockey season. See you at the rink!

Go Caps!
