Capitals add Gina Forman to Board of Directors as Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

The SPCHA Board would like to announce the addition of our newest board member, Gina Forman.  Gina’s son, Isaiah, is on the Capitals Squirt A team.  Gina joins the board in a newly created board position: Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI).  This position expands the board from 15 to 16 members.  

 In this role Gina will drive the SPCHA Diversity Strategy and champion anti-racism and equity work.  She will serve as the SPCHA leader through the promotion of racial equity and diversity.  Her efforts will focus on inclusion, cultural competency, and confrontation of systemic issues.  She will also help support the identification and resolution of internal equity issues.  Her background as a teacher and DEI consultant make her well served for this role and will make SPCHA a stronger and more impactful organization.   

Gina brings passion about making sure that children have equitable access to education and emotional learning, whether that be on the rink or in the classroom.  She wants to make sure that all people feel safe, understand their gifts, and find their place in the world. 

Gina attended Northwestern University for her undergraduate degree and received a degree in Criminal Justice/ Law and Theology.  She also holds a master’s degree in Education from University of Minnesota.  Gina currently teaches at North Minneapolis High School, where she provides special education services and case management for 11th and 12th graders.   She also provides support services to students and faculty at the University of Minnesota.
