Capital Care

Capital Care is the charitable program that each team is required to participate in as a member of the St. Paul Capitals Hockey Association. For the 2021-2022 season, we are again partnering with DinoMights Hockey!

About the Cause

The philosophy of DinoMights centers around connecting with youth from their early elementary years through high school graduation, and providing them with the support they need to become self-assured, competent adults.

Using hockey as an incentive, DinoMights provides academic tutoring, mentoring, computer instruction, studies, camping, community service, and various optional activities that help fulfill the mission to develop physical, academic, social and spiritual excellence. Since 1995, the philosophy of DinoMights has focused on whole life impact and long-term relationships with diverse youth possessing significant unmet needs in the Central, Powderhorn Park, and Phillips neighborhoods of South Minneapolis and St. Paul's west side.

Their innovative approach engages students through the power of community and provides them with the opportunities they need to become self-assured, competent adults. DinoMights provides a powerful combination of traditional enrichment through recreation and intentional strategies that respond to children’s unique developmental and academic needs.

How It Works

Each team will be asked to collect for the Dinomights. The accepted items are: Cash Donation, New Mouthguards, Stick and Sock Tape and Used or New Sticks.

Your team manger will be asked to identify a parent willing to coordinate the team’s collection efforts. Five Volunteer hours will be awarded to the parent willing to coordinate and collect for their child’s team. The parent volunteering to coordinate their efforts for their child’s team will receive additional information from us. Some amazing improvements for the donation efforts have been made this year.

New for the 2021-2022 Season

The team that raises the most donations (cash and/or the listed items) will win a free pizza party for the team! Details of the pizza party will be provided to the parent volunteer.
